SOFT RIOT

On Glasgow’s Possession Records , Soft Riot is JJD, a Glasgow-based Canadian who has over the last number of years released six albums and has toured off to locations all over Europe and parts of North America, with fans tucked into many corners of the globe. For this show Soft Riot will be trying out new material from a new, forthcoming album entitled Crux which will be out in 2026.

Soft Riot‘s sound — after much deliberation — can be described as “synthesizer-based electronic post-punk”, as his writing approach comes from a punk/hardcore background and pulls in elements from numerous darker electronic genres including synth pop, italo, EBM, art rock and more.

VIGILANCE STATE

This Newcastle-based duo — actively playing out for a number of years now — creates a compelling dystopian analogue soundscape straight from the northern industrial heartland, working in a style that mixes EBM, electro and dark techno. A synthesis of resonant vocals, mournful minimalism and brutalist bass, the State’s sound is inspired by modern legend and ancient lore.

INVISIBLE LOGIC

Invisible Logic is a solo project from Glasgow musician Ian Van Bass, using a mix of modern and vintage hardware to create evocative, sparse, and moody electronic music. The name was taken from a 1980s art magazine, reflecting Ian’s love for the control that MIDI and machines can offer. Inspired by DIY cassette culture, minimal wave and post-punk electronic music, the music has a cold edge with catchy melodies and lyrics. Themes of loss, solitude and isolation appear throughout.
